Kitchen Remodeling in Maryland, DC and Northern Virginia

A kitchen remodel at the scale most houses need: new cabinets and counters, appliances where you want them, better lighting, new flooring and finished walls, run as one job with one crew in charge. The scope and the price are in writing before anything is torn out.

What a Kitchen Remodel Covers

Plumbing, power, cabinets, counters, appliances and floors all meet in one room, and each depends on the one before it. We price the kitchen as one scope, so you are not hiring and lining up each trade yourself.

Layout and Appliances First

Where the sink, range and refrigerator go decides where water, gas and power have to run. We fix the layout and the appliance list with you before pricing, so the estimate covers the kitchen you will actually cook in.

Tear-Out and Wall Prep

Old cabinets, counters and finishes come out, and the walls behind them are straightened and patched so the new run hangs true and the counters sit flat.

Cabinets, Counters and Appliances

The new cabinets are set level and fastened into framing, the counters are measured from the installed boxes, and the appliances are set and connected at the end.

Plumbing and Electrical

Sink, dishwasher, range and lighting moved or added for the new layout, coordinated with licensed trades and the inspections your jurisdiction requires.

Floor Through the Room

The kitchen floor goes down after the heavy work, with a clean transition into the next room. Flooring is one of our own lanes, so it is not a separate contractor.

Finish and Punch List

Backsplash, trim, paint and hardware, then a walk of the kitchen with you and a list that gets finished before we call the job done.

Why Homeowners Hand Us the Whole Kitchen

One Crew in Charge
Demolition, walls, cabinets, counters, floors and paint run in order under one contract, so the kitchen is not waiting on a trade you booked yourself.
A Price Before Demolition
A written scope and price before the first cabinet comes off the wall. Anything found behind it is priced and approved by you before the work goes on.
Licensed, Bonded & Insured

What Makes a Kitchen Remodel Run Long

  • Choices Made After Demolition

Cabinets, counters and appliances each take their own time to arrive, and a choice made after the old kitchen is gone holds up every trade behind it. Settling selections before the start date keeps the kitchen out of service for less time.

  • Walls That Are Not Flat

Older walls bow and corners are rarely square. Cabinets hung on them show gaps and counters rock. Straightening the walls first is slower on day one and faster every day after.

  • What Was Under the Sink

Old supply lines, a slow drip under the sink or a soft floor under the old cabinets show up at tear-out. We look for them on the walk, and you approve any change before it is made.

How a Kitchen Remodeling Job Runs

  1. 1Send photos of the kitchen and a note on what you want changed: layout, cabinets, appliances, floor.
  2. 2We measure the room, check what is behind the sink and under the old cabinets, and settle the layout with you.
  3. 3You get the scope and the price in writing, with the selections you need to make before the start date.
  4. 4Tear-out, wall prep and any plumbing and electrical moves happen first, then inspections where they apply.
  5. 5Cabinets, counters, floor, backsplash and appliances go in, and the punch list is finished before we leave.

Kitchen Remodeling Questions We Get Asked

What is the most expensive part of a house to remodel?

⌄
Of the rooms already in a house, the kitchen usually costs the most to remodel, because cabinets, counters, appliances, plumbing, electrical, lighting and flooring all land in one room. Adding square footage with an addition costs more than remodeling a room that exists, since it also builds a foundation, walls and a roof. We do not publish kitchen prices; your written estimate is free.

When remodeling a home, what should be done first?

⌄
Plan before anything is torn out: settle the layout, the appliance list and the budget, then the permit. On site the order is demolition, anything structural, then plumbing, electrical and heating rough-in, inspections, insulation and drywall, and the finishes last. Cabinets, counters and flooring go in after the dusty work is over.

What's the difference between remodel and renovation?

⌄
A renovation restores or refreshes what is there: new paint, new floors, new fixtures in the same places. A remodel changes the form of the room: a wall moves, the layout changes, the sink goes to a different wall. Most kitchen jobs are some of each, and the written scope says which parts are which.
