District Heights Is a Small City of Brick Houses
District Heights was laid out for people who worked in Washington, on a grid of modest brick houses and duplexes, with commercial strips along Marlboro Pike and Pennsylvania Avenue.
The houses are solid. The work they need is the work any house needs at seventy or eighty years old: tired plumbing behind the walls, layered floors, rooms that were updated piece by piece.
The storefronts are older too, and they change hands more often than the houses do.
The local concept
Pike Storefronts
Pike storefronts are the small shops, offices and churches lining Marlboro Pike and Pennsylvania Avenue (MD 4) through District Heights and Forestville.
Most are older one-story buildings. Each new tenant inherits the last one's layout, so most of our commercial work here starts with taking walls out.
Work We Do in District Heights
Refits on Marlboro Pike
The old layout comes out, new rooms get framed, walls and ceilings get finished, and the plumber and electrician work inside our schedule for shops and offices along the pike.
Commercial Contracting →Duplexes and brick rentals
Duplexes and small brick houses in District Heights change tenants. Both sides of a duplex can be turned in the same visit, priced per side.
Rental Turnovers →Fire and smoke in a brick house
A kitchen fire in a small house leaves smoke in every room. We take out what cannot be cleaned, rebuild and finish the house again, documented for the adjuster.
Insurance Reconstruction →New floors over old ones
Older houses here often have several layers of flooring. We take them up to a sound base before laying plank, so the doors still close.

District Heights Questions
Do you build out small shops and churches?+
Yes. We handle the construction for small commercial spaces and bring the licensed trades in under the same project.
District Heights is a city. Who handles permits?+
Building permits still come from Prince George's County DPIE, even inside the city limits.
Can you turn both sides of a duplex together?+
Yes. Doing both units in one visit usually saves time, and each side gets its own line on the estimate.
Why take up the old flooring instead of covering it?+
Stacking new plank on several old layers raises the floor, catches doors and hides soft spots. A sound base makes the new floor last.
