RESTON
Home Repair & Contractor Services

Reston runs on covenants, so a rebuild has to satisfy the association as well as you. We rebuild cluster homes after fire or leaks, build out offices near the Silver Line and turn condos around Lake Anne.

Reston Is a Planned Town With Rules

Reston was planned from the start, with village centers, lakes and paths. It still runs on covenants.

If you own a home here, the outside of your house belongs partly to the plan. Know that before a rebuild changes anything you can see from the path.

The local concept

Covenant Approval

Covenant approval is the Reston Association Design Review Board sign-off required for exterior changes to homes covered by the Reston deed.

After a fire or storm, rebuilding exactly what was there is the simple path. Changing windows, siding colors or decks usually means an application first.

Cluster homes after a fire or leak

Reston cluster homes share walls and roofs. We rebuild the inside, document it for your claim and match the outside to what the covenants expect.

Reston Questions

Does my rebuild need Reston Association approval?+

Exterior changes to homes covered by the Reston deed usually need Design Review Board approval. Rebuilding exactly what was there is simpler. Ask the association if anything will look different.

Who issues building permits in Reston?+

Reston is unincorporated Fairfax County, so Fairfax County Land Development Services reviews the work.

Is Herndon covered too?+

Yes. Herndon is next to Reston and about 21 miles from the Capitol.

Can you match siding and trim on a cluster home?+

We match what was there as closely as we can source it, which is usually what the covenants want after a loss.
