Know this about 20019

Wood-Frame Deanwood

Wood-frame Deanwood is the early 1900s housing built here when the area was still rural, much of it by Black carpenters and builders. The houses have wood siding outside and plaster inside.

A leak in a frame house runs along the framing and soaks plaster, subfloor and sill before it shows. The rebuild has to open more than the stain.

Why Ward 7 Calls Us

Plaster and framing after a leak

We open the wet wall, dry the framing, replace what rotted and close it up so the new section sits flush with the plaster that stays.

The DC Department of Buildings. A rebuild that replaces drywall, wiring or plumbing needs one, and we prepare the scope for it.
